A different kind of people watching.

Take a portrait. Every single day. For one year. Most of us don't have the motivation but that's what Mercedes McAndrew is doing and has a blog to prove it, limagequotidienne.blogspot.com.

I love people watching and sometimes get caught staring...

I like to make up stories about where they're coming from, where they're going...

I think there is a voyeur in all of us...

Photos of strangers posted online is a great way not to get caught!

Holy crap.

Yep, this pretty much sums it up.

But it would be an extra wonderful bonus if I could have both!

Cover art.

I work part time at a book store. Did you know? It's called Book Soup and it's the most amazing independent book store in the world, smack dab in the middle of LA.

The cover of a book is a lot like the label on a bottle of wine...it can really make or break the deal in terms of peaking your interest of what's inside. Here are a few of my favorites from covers.fwis.com, a website dedicated to....
you guessed it...

book covers.

From top to bottom: Hundred Hit Wonder, author - K.I. Borrowman, Everything You Know, author - Zoe Heller, Dry Storeroom No. 1: The Secret Life of the Natura, author - Richard Fortey, Strange Flesh, author - William Logan, On Seeing and Noticing, author - Alain de Botton, Leather Maiden, author - Joe R. Lansdale, How to Cook Your Daughter, author - Jessica Hendra

Unintentionally hilarious.

Yes, I am a democrat so I'm a bit biased on this one, and to be fair I'll acknowledge that unfortunately there might be as many uninformed Obama/Biden supporters out there, certainly enough to make an interview montage. But still...why would you step up to the mic with the cameras rolling when you know you aren't sure of the facts?

COME ON PEOPLE!!!!

Something we desperately needed but never knew it.

Don't quote me on this, but I'm thinking this just released Muppet's cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody" may have something to do with the anniversary of Freddie Mercury's death, which happened November 24, 1991.

This is for real?!

This past Sunday in Japan (of course), game user (and virgin forever) Sal9000 married Nene Anegasaki, a character from the Nintendo DS simulated- dating game Love Plus in a real-life wedding ceremony officiated by a real-life priest in front of a real-life audience.

I can't...I'm not really sure what to...

And people are worried about same sex marriages..??!

Thanksgiving Dinner.

Ever had one like this?

Today I am thankful for...

my family
my friends
my strengths
my weaknesses
my job
my dogs
my freedom
my health

and you!
