It's a little trickier than I thought it would be. Your subjects have to be similar enough to make sense, yet you want there to be enough contrast to make it interesting. Here's my first attempts...

This clip of The Temptations performing on Soul Train is simply magnificent. Everything from the dancers to the tight pink tuxs to the bass singer's eyes. (Melvin Franklin, for you music snobs) Watching it makes me want to bring the freeze pose back!

I've always been a big fan of Tears for Fears, this song especially, but it's one of those that's so familiar you listen without really hearing. Today it came on while I was driving and I felt like it was 1989 and I was hearing it for the first time all over again. Do you know what it's about? Have you ever paid attention to the lyrics?? Well if you haven't...please do now...



Did you see how huuuge that crowd was??? I wonder what that feels like...performing for that many...having that much energy directed at you all at once...

Oh it gets better. He has his own captivating youtube channel!!!! It's video after video of just him in his backyard showing off his opulent mane in various styles. Rupunzel does get creative with his location choices at one point and moves inside for some hair posing on the couch. An absolute dream, this one.

Speaking of good pop..

Keep an eye out for this girl. Her name is Lykke Li and she's from Sweden, which is pretty much where the best music seems to come from these days. She's one of those myspace musician success stories and her album is called "Little Bit."

Lady CaCa

You know...I'm actually not mad at Lady GaGa. As far as I've heard she hasn't said anything that annoying to the press (yet). She can actually sing, I covet her fake Donatella Versace hair, and speaking as an adult it's nice to have a current pop artist that's not 15.
